Have you ever wanted to submit to the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series?aEver since I was in elementary school, I have loved the popular “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series. The stories were short, inspiring, and a positive boost to my day, Seeing those books on my shelves brought ne immeasurable joy as a kid. I always wanted to submit a story for a Chicken Soup book. Last year, I finally did. This is what that process was like.

At any given time throughout the year, the Chicken Soup for the Soul creators are usually working on several upcoming books in the series simultaneously. You can submit at any time for any upcoming books . Submissions are collected online via a form on their website. Go to their website, click ‘Submit a Story’, fill it out, and choose the upcoming book that best fits your work.

I submitted a story about my late cat, Maria to both the upcoming pets books. The Chicken Soup team prefers short non-fiction, but also accepts poetry. There’s no entry fee. If you are chosen, you will be paid $200.00 per published submission, and given complementary copies of the book. Multiple submissions per author ARE allowed.
